Terms

Effective September 6, 2026

These terms describe the current Springroll source alpha. They are a draft for review, not legal advice and not a substitute for the MIT license that accompanies the source.

Project and governance

Springroll is published as an open source project. No separate company, trade name, or registered entity is listed for this product. If that changes, this page will be updated.

The software

Springroll is a local Mac application for creating scheduled agent recipes and reviewing their results in an inbox. The public website explains the product and hosts these policy pages. It is not an application dashboard, account portal, or download store.

The software is experimental. It is not a packaged, signed, or notarized Mac release, and it is not independently security-audited. Features, connectors, and data handling can change. Expect rough edges and breaking changes.

License and source

Source is offered under the MIT license at https://github.com/stumptowndoug/springroll. Nothing on this website grants rights beyond that license and any third-party terms that apply to models or connected services.

No Springroll account

Springroll does not create a hosted user account, bill you, or run your recipes in the cloud. You run the app on your Mac. Model providers and integration vendors bill the accounts you connect.

Your responsibilities

  • Review a proposed recipe, its schedule, connected accounts, and granted permissions before you save or run it.
  • Use accounts and data that are appropriate for an experimental local app and for the model providers or tools you attach.
  • Keep the Mac, the app, and the local runtime available if you expect a schedule to fire. Springroll does not wake a sleeping Mac or continue after you quit the process.
  • Configure spending limits with your providers if you need them. In-app turn limits and optional cost budgets are host-side guards and can be exceeded by a request already in flight.
  • Do not paste secrets into chat, recipes, issues, or screenshots. Use the app’s connection forms.

Third-party services

When you connect a model provider, Google, Microsoft, Slack, Neon, an MCP server, or an HTTP API, that provider’s terms and privacy policy apply to the data they receive. Springroll does not control their retention, training, logging, or workspace administration. Google connectors are not described here as verified or generally available.

Consequential actions

Some connectors can send, delete, or change shared data after an explicit permission upgrade or confirmation. Treat those guards as experimental. You remain responsible for actions taken with accounts you connected.

Disclaimer

To the extent permitted by law, the authors and contributors are not liable for lost data, unexpected sends, provider charges, missed schedules, or other damages arising from use of the software.
